A Big Day...

Today has been a big day for our family...

FIRST--I am a Studio 5 junkie. (In case you didn't know...Studio 5 is a local talk show that airs everyday at 11. They have all sorts of fun ideas and advice for cooking, crafts, decorating, fashion, gardening, financial planning, etc.) Garrett and I watch it every day when we're home. Very often, our dinner (or dessert) at night comes from a recipe I've seen on Studio 5 earlier in the day.

Today they were talking about "Indulgences." As in foods that are completely unhealthy (high fat, calorie, cholesterol), but you eat anyways because they are just so good. They asked viewers to email in their favorite indulgences--if they read yours on the air, you win a prize! Well, being the healthy eater I am (or used to be) I couldn't think of anything super indulgent for me (besides Hot Fudge Brownie Sundaes), but I was instantly reminded of Greg's love for Chili Cheese Dogs. (Is there anything unhealthier?) So I emailed in and told them all about my husband's disgusting love for Chili Cheese Dogs and then I watched and waited. And you'll never believe it, but they read it over the air and I won this fabulous cookbook.

It was featured yesterday on the show and I have been dreaming of it. Thanks to Gregory for liking such disgusting and unhealthy foods!

Speaking of Greg, this leads to the SECOND piece of good news. Greg has spent the past almost two weeks living the mountain man life, which generally consists of hunting and gathering. (I am 100% positive Greg was supposed to be comrades with Jim Bridger and Jedediah Smith, but the Good Lord knew Greg needed me and so he made him wait to be born in an era of luxury and technology for his wuss of a wife.) Anyways, he called today to tell me he has bagged a lovely cow elk and will be coming home tomorrow! Garrett and I are so excited. We spent last weekend camping with him and had a grand time, but I left my camera in the trailer. I bet you're so glad to know I will be posting pictures of our camping/hunting trip very soon. Even better, you can bet your bottom dollar that Greg will be happy to show pictures of the bloody carcass to anybody who wants (and doesn't want) to see them.

As for the THIRD piece of good news--tomorrow will mark the two-week anniversary of the last time I barfed. HOORAY! I still have queasy moments and feel far from 100%, but I am doing much, much better! Garrett is greatly enjoying having a mom who isn't such a deadbeat and will actually play with him and take him places instead of lying on the couch with a barf bucket. I'm almost 19 weeks along, so it's about time! Less than two weeks and we'll know if the little peanut is a boy or girl!

**Don't forget to vote on the poll (top of the blog) and tell us your gender prediction.
