Kami's Wedding

My darling cousin Kami got married on Saturday. Her mom and my mom are sisters and our families have always been really close. We did pretty much everything together growing up (and still do), so I'd say we're more like sisters than regular cousins. We're so happy for Kami and Kyle!

Kyle is from Salt Lake and Kami is from Cache Valley, so they were smart enough to do their Logan reception a few days before the wedding. (Greg and I got married on a Thursday and had a reception that night and then another one the next night. Very crazy and kinda awkward to see all your friends and family the next day. Anyways, moving on...)

Kami, Garrett, and Kyle
The lovely bride and the G-Stud

I heard someone say once the only type of righteous pride is the pride a parent might feel towards their children. I would definitely have to agree with that! I apologize in advance for the blog-bragging (I try to avoid it), but our boy looked so stinkin' cute in his little suit I could hardly stand it. Seriously, this picture doesn't do it justice (you know how toddlers are really great for pictures), but it honestly warmed my heart every time I looked at the little fellar. It's a good thing he looked so cute, because that was about all he had going for him that night. The reception was indoor/outdoor with a swimming pool, and he REALLY wanted to be in that pool. Greg and I spent the night taking turns chasing him around the pool while he giggled. Little stinker.
He would not leave his shirt tucked in for the life of us, but oh well.
Of course, the future janitor had to help clean up. He loves to "help" vacuum. (It took "us" about a half hour yesterday to vacuum our little apartment because Garrett felt the need to help with the entire thing. And he's moving into the do-it-myself stage...YIKES!)
At the temple...waiting for the bride and groom to emerge. Funniest thing...Kyle has a nephew who is about Garrett's age and looks identical to him from the back side. Red hair and everything! They were wearing similar suits at the reception and his mom and I (and everybody else) kept mixing up the two. Garrett was having a bonding day with Grandma Jan (Greg's mom) while we went to the wedding festivities, so he wasn't there. My niece Gracie and Garrett are buds and LOVE each other. When Gracie saw Kyle's nephew outside the temple, she went running to him with her arms out and yelled "Gus" (what she calls Garrett). Normally, Garrett would run back to her giggling, but this little guy just looked at her like she was crazy. She kept going up to him and throwing her arms around him and trying to play. It was so funny. We don't think she ever caught on that he wasn't the "real Gus."

Still waiting...let's get the Petersen fam together for a pic. Aren't we a stunning bunch? Not the best pic, but you get the point.
Finally, the lovely couple. Again, not the best pic, but a beautiful bride and her handsome man!
While we were at the wedding, Greg's little brother Matt was getting ready for the big Homecoming Dance with his very helpful assistant Garrett. A couple of handsome boys!

I have to agree that Garrett looks ever so handsome in his suit! I'm sad I didn't get to see him in person with it on. And to vacuum too!!!!! What a kid! Him and Easton should start a cleaning business!
