April Update

I pretty much stink at blogging these days and am trying to update this thing at least once a month. Pathetic, I know. I'll work on it.

We've had a really fun Spring. Here are a few highlights:

Greg is so happy for warm weather and nice horse rides. Abby loves to go with him and never misses a chance to ride with her daddy.

Spring = Soccer. This was Garrett's first year and it was an interesting experience. He was too busy playing with the other kids and messing around to even realize there was a game going on for the first couple of games. (You will notice from the pictures that his first game was played in the snow...gotta love it!) He made great improvement over the course of the season and even made some awesome kicks in his last game and seemed to really enjoy it.

We finally gave in to the kids and got new baby chicks this year. I hate them, they love them. Enough said.

More soccer--my parents were a little concerned about the lack of skill Gracie and Garrett were showing at their first soccer games and set up a little practice for them in the backyard.

Gracie was all over it...
...Garrett took a little convincing, but finally came around.

We were excited for him to show off his new skills at his next game!

He did show a little leg, so I guess that's almost as good as showing off mad soccer skills, right?

Another highlight was visiting the zoo for Brooklyn's birthday. I made an executive decision just to chase the kids and enjoy the experience without worrying about taking pictures, but I cracked when Sher walked up pulling Brian in the wagon.

They have a fun exhibit going right now where they have Lego animals throughout the zoo. I think the kids loved them almost as much as the real animals. This Polar Bear was awesome. It's crazy to think the whole thing is made of Legos.
Not a great pic, but here's the real polar bear. He was really fun to watch!
Oh Miss Abby...all she wanted to do from the minute we walked in the gate was see the snakes. Really?!? Is this my daughter? You'd be hard-pressed to find an individual who dislikes snakes more than I do. I patiently waited outside while they visited the reptile house and Abby still says her favorite thing she saw at the zoo was the snakes. Strange kid.

No snakes for me, but I do love the giraffes. Isn't this such a cute little giraffe family?
 Cute kids, good times!
