Footings and Foundation

The footings and foundation are done! Bring on the pics...

Setting the forms
That handsome builder I've been telling you about.

Forms are ready, bring on the cement!

Greg climbed on top of a big dirt pile to take the above aerial shots. While he was up there, he captured this little shot of his "My Little Pony" collection.

Notice this dude--it was an especially chilly day, only about 95 degrees. Good thing he had his hoodie on, complete with straps tied around his chin.

Foundation time
Another chilly August Utah Day, Another hoodie for our buddy.

Check out this cement truck. Its two front wheels were hanging over the edge. SCARY!
Garrett was too busy running and playing in the dirt to cheese it for the camera.
We put Garrett right to work moving pipe. Good boy!
That's all for now. There's all sorts of stuff going on down there now involving big trucks, but I'm not sure what. Greg has told me multiple times, but it goes right over my head. Apparently there's a lot that happens between the foundation and framing. Weird. Good thing I'm not in charge of building the house!

Yay! That has to be so exciting to see your house being built. My eyes are pretty much green with envy right now. Next time we are in Logan we need to go on our Firehouse date!

I'm so excited for you guys! We drove by yesterday and checked out the foundation. I don't know much about foundations but I'm sure it is an amazing one :)

Looks like fun. Your house looks like it will be large!

Maybe the dude with the sweatshirt has a skin disease and can't be in the sun.

Sure Karlee, make me feel like a jerk! :) Greg told me it's actually quite common for Hispanic workers to wear hoodies all day, every day, rain or shine. He says he's seen it a bunch. Maybe they are more prone to skin diseases??? I'm not sure, but I just about died when I pulled up and saw the poor guy. The funny thing is that he didn't seem hot at all.

1) I'm kind of surprised that you were able to get the footings and foundations done without me.

2) I think the only thing your blog is missing is several comments about how good looking Greg is... oh wait I'm thinking of someone else's blog... Sorry...

I'd be glad to not be in charge either... Stuff like that stresses me out. So if we ever build maybe we'll just have you guys tell us how it's done.

Oh, and maybe the hispanic workers just don't want to look like they're 60 when they're 40, much like many of the long time constructioneers I see. Maybe he's just really concerned with skin care and overexposure to the harmful rays of the sun! :P

So that looks like it will be a pretty big place. When do Annabelle, Bri, and I move in with ya? (I bet there's a waiting list.) How does it feel to see such progress? It just looks so exciting!

Nat- last night I had a dream that you had a baby girl. This was the third child after the baby boy you are 'carrying' right now. I was super sad because Garrett was like 8 and I somehow missed how you're family was just growing up and I was missing everything whilst at the Y. You don't have to publish this comment.
