Relay for Life

We rocked it again this year at the Relay for Life. This is the 10th year our family has participated in the Relay and it just gets better every year. We miss Grandpa Claude and Grandma Vone every day, but we are so happy to do something positive in their memory. Cancer stinks, but good things can come of hard times and that is what the Relay for Life is all about.  A mega-huge thanks to everybody who donated and helped our team. We love you so much!

Best.picture.ever of Garrett. Pick a winner, little buddy.

They did something new this year and asked everybody to make posters and hold them up for the Survivors during the Survivor Lap. It was really sweet and had us all pretty weepy for a bit.

My cancer-survivor cousin, Janalee. You go girl!!!

The kids loved "fishing" and making wishes in the wishing well.

Poor Garrett was so tired he climbed on Kami's lap and fell asleep. Judging by that smile, I don't think she minded the cuddle time. :)

Abbs, on the other hand, is a party animal like her mom and couldn't get enough. We were so lucky to have a playground right behind our campsite this year. We are totally voting for the same location next year!

The kids were playing in the wagon when Miss Cache Valley came by and offered to take a lap around the track with them. You can only imagine how excited they were to be with a REAL princess.

It got even better when she let them all try on her crown. She is so sweet! We have seen her at a few different events this year and she always seems so genuinely nice. She always takes the time to visit with the kids and never acts put out or too cool to take a few minutes and make a little girl's day.

This guy was a ROCK STAR and either walked or ran for the entire 24 hours of the Relay for Life without stopping. In the 10 years we have done the Relay, I have never seen anything like it and it was incredible. A bunch of kids joined in and ran his last lap with him and then the firefighters carried him around the track while everybody cheered. It was so inspiring and made the Relay extra-special this year.

To put the icing on the cake, we won this awesome swimming pool full of fun summer activities. It was the best five bucks I have ever spent on a raffle ticket!

The kids couldn't wait to unwrap it and pull out all their treasures. The swimming pool is now sitting on our deck and has provided many hours of enjoyment for the little munchkins.

Abby also won this darling headband and wore it for a good week straight before she decided it could be removed from her head.

As always, we came home exhausted, but loved every minute of it and can't wait for next year!!!
