I went to the grocery store this evening. As I finished loading the bags in the car, I noticed an item in the very back of the cart I had forgotten to pay for. Like an idiot, I stood there in the parking lot just staring at it and wondering what in the world I was going to do. I considered all my options--leave it in the cart, just take it and pay for it next time, go to the pharmacy drive-through and see if they would let me pay for it there. I'm not kidding when I say I probably stood there for a good minute in despair just trying to decide what to do.
This experience I would call a "Sign of the Times." (I'm referring to the "9 Month Pregnant Times".) Under normal circumstances, I would have thought, "Oh crap," and marched right back into the store and paid for the item. (Or I probably wouldn't have forgotten to pay for it to begin with.) No big deal. Not today! After agonizing for awhile, I did manage to waddle back in and pay for the stupid thing so I could leave with a clear conscience, but it about did me in.
To be honest, I would have just left the stupid thing in the cart, but it was the whole reason I had gone to the store to begin with. Oh yes, here it is!!!
It has been weeks since I fell asleep before 3 AM and slept for more than just a few hours, so I am really looking forward to taking these bad boys tonight. I visited the doctor today and told him about my insomnia and he suggested these. Let's pray they work! At least one good night of sleep before the baby is born would be absolutely heavenly.
Other highlights from the doc--I'm now dilated to a 3+, 80% effaced and my water is bulging and just ready to break. I have measured small for two weeks in a row now and they did an ultrasound just to make sure she is still growing and everything is okay. Thankfully, everything looks fine and the doctor said she is ready to come anytime now, but I'm reminding myself we still have 2 weeks until my due date and not to get too excited. In fact, I'm really hoping she doesn't come tonight, because I'm really hoping it was worth the trip back into the grocery store to pay for the blasted meds so I can sleep!!!
And just for fun--here's my favorite boys snuggling up for a little movie party before bedtime. Anybody who has spent time with Garrett lately knows exactly what they were watching...

that totally describes my pregnancies. I always called it brain shrinkage!
Nat P!!!!!!!!!!!! You crack me up. You'll never guess, but I actually have been having the same problem you are having with the insomnia this past 2 weeks. I finally broke down and bought the SAME THING you did and it definitely worked. I would suggest only taking 1 pill though... 2 really knocks you out! Good luck getting a few good nights of sleep!!! xoxo
101 Dalmations!!! Do I win the prize? That's what he was watching at Mom's last night when I picked the dogs up from doggie day care. I can't wait to meet the newest member of the family. I feel so bad that you feel so miserable. I wish I would have known you could take Tylenol PM. I have a huge bottle and could have loaded you up when you picked up Garrett. I hope you got some sleep last night.
I sense a baby any minute, I hope you get at least one more good night's rest!
Oh, Nat I am so sorry. Those are some rough times if I remember correctly. I have a bit of that, but nothing like the 9 month crapola. Well, hang in there!! We can't wait to meet your sweet little girl!!!
I would consider leaving it in the cart and I'm not even pregnant:)
Can wait to see pics of the your little girl!
Nothing like a good ethical dilemma to fry your pregnant (and tired) brain. I'm excited to see pics of the little girl soon...I'll check back often! Good luck with naming her. I hear you are having as much trouble as we are. So far, our best option is Cole's "George."
(from your previous posts, "doggies" ;)
How funny! I totally understand. Oh the agony to have to walk back into the store after all that.
I hope they worked, but I guess I'll find out soon enough (still awaiting the big news).
How are names coming along?
Well, i hope that you get some sleep soon. And as soon as we move in you will have more help...
