I remember hearing a pregnant girl say, "I can't wait for this baby to come so I can get some sleep." Everybody in the room who had kids laughed and informed her she probably wouldn't be getting much more sleep when the baby comes. I don't remember everything about Garrett's newborn days (they are kind of an exhausted blur), but I don't think I was getting any less sleep than I am now.
Between restless legs, bathroom breaks about every 20 minutes, itchy skin, and shooting pain in my back down my legs every time I roll over, sleep is kind of a thing of the past. It seems like the past week or so I have finally fallen asleep (usually on the couch watching TV) between 2 and 5 AM.
Don't get me wrong--I'm certainly not complaining (although it sounds like it). Each miserable night gets us one day closer to meeting our little gal! We're getting so excited for her to join us. As of tomorrow, I will be 37 weeks and therefore full-term. I doubt she'll be coming 3 weeks early, but we're getting there. Stay tuned!

That's right don't complain! Remember how much you have and put a smile on your face :)
so exciting Nat!!!!! cant wait to meet the little princess. :o)
Hang in there...it will be here before you know it....I thought I had at least another good week before Daxton came 2 1/2 weeks early....I can't believe you are 37 weeks already....that has flown by, at least for me:) Just keep us updated and good luck!!!
Oh, ho ho! You poor girl. Hmm, strangely, I understand ;). I remember thinking I was crazy for being so anxious for her to come. I just wanted to be able to pick something up, like... my CHILD! ;) I was also obsessed with drinking water because I found I would swell way less, but that didn't go over too well in the night.
I'm soo excited for you guys!! I can't wait, but I can. Glad all is going well.
(Are you tired of all the sympathy/curiosity stares yet that you get whenever you go out? hehe)
I promise I'm not a stalker, but I was on Kristin's blog and the title, 'Insomnia' came up, and I've struggled with that too, so I thought I'd take a look.
All I can say is, "I hear you girl!!" I would WAY rather have newborn-sleep than pregnant-sleep.
I do have one word of advice. Benadryl. One of the few drugs you can still take. I would pop two at 8:00 P.M. (don't do it any later or you won't be able to get up in the morning) and it helped with my sleeping (not a cure, but it helped).
You know what? I AM getting better sleep than I was the last 2-3 weeks of my pregnancy... cuz when I do sleep, I sleep well. At the end of pregnancy for me I just hurt all night long and felt tired a lot from the weight and the pelvic floor pain, haha. I think people just forget when they're dealing with the kids, what a tiresome thing pregnancy is! And this is coming from a mom of a 2 1/2 week old! :)
hmmm...I was getting all excited about getting prego (NOT expecting btw) until I read your post:) just kidding.
Can't wait to see pictures of your adorable (goes without saying) girl!
And here I am enjoying the sweet bliss of the second trimester. Thanks for reminding me what I have to look forward to!
