Here's a little sampling of our daily schedule at home:
Somewhere between 9:30 and 10:30--Garrett wakes up. He eats breakfast, we play for awhile, watch Studio 5, go for a walk or bike ride, etc. until he starts getting grumpy.
About 12:00 noon to anywhere between 2:30 and 4:00 PM--Garrett naps! These are my few precious hours I have now to do everything it used to take me all day to do. :)
After he wakes up until about 9:00 to 10:00 PM--We play some more, get excited for Greg to get home, make/eat dinner, hang out, try to keep Garrett from tearing the whole house apart, etc. Depending on what's going on that day and how he's doing, sometimes Garrett takes a short evening snooze in the 6 to 8 region.
Between 9:00 and 10:30--Garrett goes to bed--generally like a champ. Most days he goes right down without incident and sleeps quite soundly until morning. Occasionally, he'll fuss for a few minutes but is usually asleep within 15 minutes or so.
Fortunately and unfortunately, this schedule does not always work so well when traveling. (Specifically naptime and bedtime.) Naptime went pretty well yesterday, but bedtime would be somewhere in the nightmare department. Even at home, he hasn't slept as well this past week because he hasn't been feeling the best. However, last night probably takes the cake. It was well past the midnight hour when Greg, Mike, Garrett and I were finally all sleeping. Let's just say we learned again (for the billionth time) why it is much better to just lay him down and let him cry it out rather than trying other alternatives. (But it is so hard to do when you're at someone else's house and trying not to keep everybody awake!) We had about 50 close calls when we thought he was asleep, but no such luck. The little stinker--it's a darn good thing he's so cute!
To make matters worse, the boys in the party left at 4:30 this morning for a deep-sea fishing adventure on Lake Wisconsin (not sure if that's the real name), so Greg and Mike got about 3 hours of sleep. I woke up when they left and was having a hard time getting back to sleep, so I figured I might as well do what I do best during times of insomnia--blog! I forgot to send the camera with Greg this morning, so hopefully someone else will get some photos of their ginorm catches.
Despite its rough end, yesterday (Thursday) was a super day! We attended the Brewers vs. Marlins baseball game at Miller Park and loved it. We've never been to a MLB game before and it was such a fun experience. We ate a lovely dinner here at Mike's apartment and then took a drive along the lakefront.
Bring on the pics!
Greg started the day by tearing a link off his chain. One down, six to go! (Might I add that Greg is actually having a great time and behaving quite nicely!)
Lots of photos from the big game. Garrett looked so cute in his new outfit my mom gave him for our trip.

Sounds fun!! You need to go back to bed and get some sleep. I can't believe you are blogging at 4:53 AM. I hope Garrett has a long nap today so you can too.
I cannot believe Garrett sleeps in until 9:30 or 10:00.
How fun and exciting! Give Dr. Mike a big hug from us all, and tell him that we love him and are so proud of him!
I'm so glad you are so good about posting often on your blog. You are so good at it and I sometimes feel like I were there, as I get caught up in your story. Keep up the good work Nat.
Yes, Mal is hot, maybe while you guys are there Mike could introduce her to some fine Dr.-to-be. Wait, that would never work. She's too young and cute to have a long-distance relationship!
The pictures are always great. I liked the one with the three of you in the huge Mitt! Do you suppose my bott would fit in it?
