My baby brother Brett and his lovely wife, Chelsea, returned home Saturday after spending the summer in Alaska. Garrett wasn't even two months old when they left and didn't have many tricks, so it has been so fun watching him show off for Brett and Chelsea. They are the cutest uncle and aunt and the kids absolutely love them! We missed them so much and are so glad they are finally home.
One other piece of good news--I just got off the phone with Greg and after a grueling week of hunting, he finally got an elk today! WAHOO! I actually really like elk meat, so this is very, very good news! Garrett and I have missed him and are anxiously awaiting his return tomorrow. We are so grateful for the big sacrifice he makes for our family to use his vacation time every year and go hunting. He hates every minute of it and it is pretty much torture for him, but he is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for our family. What a man! :)

What a fun post. I so sad I didn't have my camera in record mode to get Brooklyn charging to Brett and Chels- cause it was so cute. I am glad Derk got and elk and you got a call :)
Love your comment about Greg! You always make me laugh. Glad he got his elk though so you guys won't starve.
It's pretty interesting that Greg didn't have any time off when it was time for the family vacation in Yellowstone but somehow was able to work it out to go hunting. I guess we know where we stand in his priorities!! Please tell him I'm such offended.
What a sweet little family. Sometimes, I wish I was a member of the Petersen family.... Thanks for calling today! It was great to talk to you!!
Are you kidding me! I think Nate makes the same GREAT sacrifice every single year (funny how we still have meat in our freezer from last year!) boys are weird.
Brett looks so grown-up, I still picture him as a little screw around kid!
I bet its great having Brett and Chelsea home! Horray! Yes, Brian shares many of Greg's passions for "providing for the family". All that is streaming through his mind right now is "Man must go get meat."
Yes, I too am proud of the sacrifices Greg makes for his family. You know, you can always depend on Greg trudging through the trees with savage elk all around him. The question is, who will overcome, The Hunter or The Hunted? Thank goodness he made it out alive!!
