The little G-Monster got to eat rice cereal for the first time tonight. Last week when we visited the doctor she asked how Garrett was sleeping and told me not to worry about feeding him solids until he started waking up again in the night. The kid must have great hearing, because he woke up Monday night and has not been sleeping very well ever since. (I realize this is relative--He's been waking up at 7 instead of 11 in the morning!) We'll see how he sleeps tonight.
Anxiously awaiting...
Hurry up already...
MMMM...Yummy!
Still trying to decide how I feel about this stuff...
Ready for more!
Of course, here's some video footage of the grand event. Garrett's buddy Kaleb came over to play and got to help.
Greg is going elk hunting this weekend so if all goes well, Garrett should be eating his first elk steak sometime next week. Stay tuned!

I could tell that little guy would love his cereal! He's going to be a big boy like daddy. Thanks for sharing those pics with us, He's so cute, and always puts a smile on my face.
How cute! It is so fun to start new things...once they get a taste for the good stuff there is no turning back!
It is always fun when babies start eating food....wait until the fun and colorful stuff! Garrett looks like he would do just fine scarffing down an elk...I definately think he is ready!
What a cute little helper you have there :) Thanks again for letting him come and play! I love the pictures with rice cereal all over Garrett's face! He is getting big so fast!
Holy Cow! I can't believe that he's already eating solids! We can't wait to see him. Only 2 more days! :)
There is just a little jump from rice cereal to elk steak. You might want to point that out to Greg because you never know what he might do. Garrett is such a doll and he is growing up way too fast. Is there anything you could do about that??
Hopefully we will be eating elk in the next few weeks too (because then that would mean he got one and wouldn't be going again for another year :) wishful thinking)
Garrett looks adorable as ever eating his cereal (which is SOOOO gross).
when does he go to BED?!
What a cutie! I remember when I had Jordan I couldn't wait for him to start eating solids. With Jarrett it was just the opposite. Things become so much messier and complicated with the food, but it is still fun!
Don't you just love when they reach those little mile stones! It is so much fun to see all the things they learn so fast! He is so cute and growing up too fast. Enjoy it while they are this young, next week he will be driving and dating!! YIKES!!
Garrett is such a cutie! Yum! That rice cereal sure is tasty stuff. I loved your last blog entry about watching tose you love suffer for a short time because you know that it will bring them happiness and make them stronger in the end. I am so grateful that my Father in Heaven can see my life stretched out in front of Him and is there to guide us along the way. I hope you do well going back to teaching for a while. That is so nice that you have someone good to watch Garrett. It sounds like it's going to work out great! Good luck!
7 instead of 11 Natalie!!!!!!!!! Grrrrr. You lucky girl.
Don't you love those bumbo seats, they're the best. Dillon just barely got a high-chair because it was so easy to just stick him in his bumbo. I love the "Ready for more" picture, the face is priceless.
