Garrett scared the bee-jeebies out of me last night. I went to check on him before I turned in for the night and was a little surprised when he wasn't in his bed. I've found him asleep on the floor before, so I glanced around and couldn't see him anywhere. It was dark and I had a momentary panic attack--I had about a billion crazy thoughts of what could've happened to him running through my head--then I heard a soft snoring. I looked around everywhere, but still couldn't see him. I followed the sound and found this:
What a kid! Speaking of which, Garrett had a few good lines today.
- We were on our way home from the store and both Garrett and Abby had a treat. Garrett chose a ring pop and Abby had a sucker. Garrett finished his treat first and asked me if he could have a sucker like Abby's. I told him he had already had his ring pop, but maybe he could choose that treat next time. He told me he really wanted one and asked if we could go back to the store and get one. I repeated my earlier answer and he responded with, "Oh come on, Mom." (I guess you probably would've had to have been there, but the way he said it was so funny and so grown-up.)
- Greg needed us to pick something up for him at the plumbing store this afternoon. We were getting out of the car when a guy (who looked like your typical plumber) walked by and Garrett said, "Mom, there's a man." I answered with something like, "Yes, that is a man. You're right." Garrett responded with, "We love him."
P.S. Mucho thanks to everybody who responded to my coconut post yesterday. Here's what I did with the coconut: I soaked it in water for about 5 minutes and then poked the "eyes" with a screwdriver and drained the milk. I then baked it in the oven for about 25 minutes and then hit it all over with a hammer when it had cooled. Greg walked in at this point and took it out to the garage and somehow broke it open. I shredded some of the coconut and mixed it with some coconut milk, mango, pineapple, lime, and ice and made a smoothie to go with the Hawaiian Pork we were having for dinner. Then I looked long and hard at the rest of the coconut sitting on the counter and asked Greg how offended he would be if I threw it away. He laughed and said, "I hope you will." And so I did. (I felt a bit guilty about it, but that's the truth.)

Next time try "Young coconuts". The flesh inside is much easier to peel out...kindof like gelatin. You'll see people drinking out of the young coconuts in movies...They're bigger and a different color. Rodney would know better since he was born in hawaii...if you wanna know more details--email me: smilin_chick@hotmail.com. You should definitely try it once.
That would be so scary not being able to find gussy for those few minutes. That is a fun tent. I haven't seen it- where did you get it?
Like father like son. Never know where that red head will end up sleeping. Am I right? And I love the conversation you and greg had after dinner. xoxo
