The Fall Fun Continues...

Garrett and Gracie enjoyed their Horrible Hair Day at preschool. Em and I felt like we had an epic fail as we watched the other kids walk in. Most of them  had their hair sprayed different colors and were looking crazy. Garrett said, "I wish my hair was blue," and Gracie said, "I don't think I look horrible. I look cute." We'll do better next year.

The gals took a trip to Park City during the UEA break while the boys went deer hunting. It's crazy to me that Garrett is old enough to go with the big boys now. We missed having him with us, but he had a great time with his dad, uncles, and grandpa. Abby even slept on the top bunk with the big girls. Even though it had a nice protective railing on it, I slept on the bottom bunk and was a nervous wreck all night. I woke up every time I heard a sound and worried she was falling off, but she slept through the whole night and was so proud when she woke up in the morning and was still on the top bunk.

We ate at a yummy place outside of Morgan called Taggart's. It was beautiful and the kids loved the peacocks that wandered through the yard. Brooklyn really wanted a picture with the peacock. Isn't she darling?

Not the best picture, but Abby loved the spider cookie.

We braved the rain/hail/wind to visit the Pumpkin Walk. Abby really wanted to wear her pumpkin costume and Garrett thought he also better dress up, so we went in costume. (I bought this lovely pumpkin costume for 75 cents when I was pregnant with Garrett. Greg thought it was totally ridiculous for a boy to be a pumpkin, so it went in the back of the closet until Abby found it this year. She LOVES it and it was the only costume she has wanted to wear. I thought for sure she would want to be a princess, but she insisted on the pumpkin. Garrett said he wanted to wear his skeleton costume from last year, so it has been a cheap Halloween for us!)

The kids love the cut-outs at the Pumpkin Walk. Abby about flipped her lid when she realized she could put her face in her beloved princesses. Again, I'm not sure why she didn't want to dress up as one for Halloween, but whatever. Too-small pumpkin costumes are good too, right?

Nice attempt at the cousin picture...

I am always amazed at the displays people come up with. This one from "The Bachelor" totally cracked me up!

You gotta love Willy Wonka. Garrett really liked the "blown-up girl" and wanted a picture.

The Disney Olympics were really cute.

We had barely started walking through when the storm came and it was crazy! We hurried through and managed to avoid the flying sheets of plywood as the displays crashed down. Sad. :(

The kids were so excited to visit with this sweet witch.

I cracked up at the political displays. Here we have Mitt Romney in the doghouse and President Obama in hot water. Clever!

More fun with the cut-outs...

Greg planned a "Spooky Family Home Evening" and Garrett was so excited! Garrett told us after church on Sunday he had invited Sister Griffin (the music leader in Primary) to join us for FHE. Greg and I got a good laugh and we were absolutely shocked when she didn't show up. :) The kids loved carving pumpkins and having orange floats for dessert.

We visited Grandpa Sparky at Deer Camp on Thursday. There was only about a foot of snow on the ground and the kids were thrilled! It was their first snow experience of the season and they couldn't get enough. It was so cold, but it didn't seem to bother them much.

We went into the tent to warm up for a bit while the kids watched a movie on the iPod. Greg is a mountain man at heart, but the rest of our family would have made terrible pioneers.

Here is my best attempt at getting a picture with Grandpa. Abby was mad because we were going home.

Grandpa did manage to cheer her up, though.

We have had such a fun fall and can't wait for Halloween next week!
