A Super Saturday

***I'm on a roll lately with the corny post titles.

Greg's cousin, Josh, is getting married on Thursday to a darling girl named Becca. They came for a visit on Saturday and brought Becca's two little sisters and Josh's little sister, Amy. Becca's sisters were really excited to go for a horse ride and they were so sweet. We loved having them here!

This little cowboy and little cowboy girl were beyond devastated when their daddy rode off without them, so I did what any good mom would do--I took them to the store and got them a treat. Sugar is such a fine distraction for broken little hearts.

(Note: Greg is a softy for these rugrats of ours and felt terrible leaving them behind, but two of the horses were already riding double and he didn't want to have a kid on with him in case there were any problems.)

Our blasted "baby chicks" are not so baby anymore and I have been loving the fact that they are out of our garage and roaming the yard. (For VERY GOOD reasons, I'm a little paranoid about salmonella and other infectious diseases and make the kids wash their hands every 15 seconds when they are playing with the chicks. Now that our chickens are older, they are much harder to catch, which means the kids are holding them less and I don't have to worry about diseases being transmitted via animals to humans as much.) Thank you, Josh, for bringing a gift of 3 more tiny chicks that Garrett and Abby think need to be held constantly. Next time, bring a gallon of hand sanitizer and a Costco size bottle of soap.

One cute story and I'm done for the night. We have a darling babysitter named Abby Larsen* (I changed her last name just in case she doesn't want to be broadcast on the WWW.) Garrett thinks she is about the coolest thing ever and especially likes that her name is Abby. He always calls her by both her first and last name and frequently talks about "Abby Larsen." We saw her at Church on Sunday and Garrett was so excited to say "hi" to her and talked about her the whole way home. He said, "We have two Abbys. Abby Larsen..." and then he paused and thought about it for a second and said, "and Abby Cakes." Yep, Abby-Cakes is right. I love it!

What a good last name to change it to....I don't think there are any Larsen's in Newton. ;)

I truly should come see your house sometime. It looks awesome where you live.

I hear Abby really enjoyed her ice cream yesterday at lunch. I know how grateful you were the chicks were finally growing up. Sorry you are starting over. On the other hand I'm sure Garrett is thrilled. Lets just hope he doesn't chase any more into the corral.
