It's official...our little stinkerbug is a full-fledged crawler. It was hilarious because he had the idea down several weeks ago, but just couldn't get his arms and legs to move at the same time and would usually end up with a nice face plant right into the carpet. Last week while I was at the concert, Greg worked his magic and Garrett was an old pro by the time I got home. He's been crawling like a mad man ever since and it only took him about 5 minutes of exploring to figure out how to pull himself up to furniture. (The nurses in the hospital when he was born told us he was STRONG, and they weren't kidding!) Let's just say life as we know it is OVER! He LOVES electrical cords (lovely thing to play with) and will find a way to get to them (and everything else he shouldn't) at all costs. Let's just say I'm currently trying to decide if we should even put up a Christmas tree. Do any of you seasoned mothers have any advice about kids and Christmas trees?
Here's some footage for your viewing pleasure...
The picture isn't great, but Garrett has had a few setbacks on his quest to discover the world and is currently sporting a high quality bruise on his cheek and a very nice shiner! Greg asked me at church if I was worried about somebody turning us in to social services. (We felt much better to see Garrett's buddy Kaleb with a black and blue forehead...compliments of falling down the stairs at the Aggie game.) Tis the season for bumps and bruises!

nat i love this video! i love how he poses with that huge smile on his face. and I love it when he poses on his side to rest from crawling at the end. can i keep him? please please!
so cute! I can't believe he is already big enough to crawl- time has gone by so fast! His bruises just make him look tough right?!
I love this kid. His smile just melts my heart. I think I will just give up on guys and steal him.
Loved it, loved it! What a cutie he makes as a crawler. I can't wait to see him in action. As for the Christmas tree, You put it up, and when he tears it down, put it up again!lol. He will love that tree, won't be able to take his eyes off the lights, and yes, he'll have to ceawl over to it to get a better look. Just hope he can only reach a few of the ornaments. That's one of the best things about "Baby's first Christmas" to see him respond to all the new sights. You'll have to take lots of pictures of him with ornaments and tinsel in his little hands. You can still however try to teach him the phrase,"No Garrett, don't touch."
Good luck you all,
enjoy
yea! Oh and um, good luck with the christmas tree, for some reason it is NEVER put together. if you figure out how to keep them out of it, let me know!
