We had the craziest (and most fun) summer of all time. Seriously, I packed a suitcase at the beginning of summer and just left it sitting on my bedroom floor because we were off on a new adventure pretty much every week.
We had a blast swimming with Gini and Owen at her parents' pool. I think it is safe to say Garrett is fully prepared to go down that slide.
Garrett played t-ball again this year. He had great coaches and loved it! He loved hitting the ball, but got a bit bored in the outfield and would usually just chat it up with whomever happened to be in earshot.
Oh, this sweet baby of ours! She was a fusser to start with, but flipped a switch this summer and turned into the sweetest, most glorious baby you could imagine. She loved being outside and was such a good sport on all of our many adventures.
My parents have the best neighborhood, just full of little kids. Most of our kids' friends live in the neighborhood and it was basically just a giant party all summer long. The kids played outside and ran from house to house entertaining themselves and having so much fun. I'm so grateful for their sweet little friends and their fun parents. The moms (and dads) spent a lot of time just visiting and watching the kids play.
And play they did...Abby is worn right out after a day of running through the sprinklers. She didn't even make the 5 minute drive home from Grandma's house before she was out for the count.
Did I mention already how sweet this little thing is?
Abby is obsessed with her darling cousin, McKall. She would pretend Reese was McKall and play with her and talk to her as if she were McKall. Hilarious!
My beautiful cousin, Marlee, married her sweetheart, Tom, in June. It was a beautiful day and Grandma Susie made it from China just in time. The kids were so excited to be in the wedding party.
After the wedding, we loaded up and headed to St. George to stay with my mom's cousin, Mary Ann. She was gracious enough to let all of us and our crazy kids stay at her house. We had the BEST time and it was a definite highlight of our summer. We visited them a few years ago and Garrett attached himself to Ted and loved finding frogs under their tramp. Garrett was so excited to get back to St. George to see Ted and the frogs!
Mary Ann has the cutest grandkids and the kids were so excited to all have a sleepover on her deck one night. You can about imagine how long it lasted, but they sure were cute!
They have a heavenly pool right in their backyard. Little Reese loved the water and splashed around with Mary Ann on her float.
Our 10 year wedding anniversary just happened to fall during the time we were in St. George. Greg had to be at Scout Camp, so he told me just to go ahead with the trip and we would celebrate later. He ditched the Scouts and made arrangements with my mom to watch the kids so he could surprise me with a night out in St. George. It was such a sweet treat for me and I told him I might be able to put up with him for another ten years after that fun little surprise.
The kids loved the St. George Children's Museum.
We got home from St. George just in time for another t-ball game. I had to share this picture because Reese had THE WORST blowout I have ever seen. I have experienced my fair share of blowouts with my three kids, but I have never seen anything like this one. We were far enough away from home that the game would have been over by the time we got back with more clothes, so we just had to put a clean diaper on and let her roll around in the grass. I was so embarrassed!!!
A few days later, we took off for Fish Lake with Greg's family. It was so beautiful and we had an absolute blast with Willy's side of the family. The kids loved sleeping in a little log cabin, fishing, exploring, catching squirrels, and being spoiled by Greg's aunts and cousins.
Greg's aunt and uncle gave us this cute little "Bear Bum" jammies for Reese. They were our absolute favorites and always made Garrett and Abby giggle.
Stay tuned for Part 2 of our wild and crazy summer!!!
