Garrett came home from preschool last week absolutely determined to catch a leprechaun. I hadn't really given much thought to St. Patrick's Day up to that point, but his enthusiasm was contagious and we had a fun time celebrating the green holiday with the kids. I didn't get pictures of all of them, but Garrett and Abby set traps every night in hopes of catching a leprechaun. They are sneaky little fellows and we never caught one, but they did leave some magic dust and gold treats behind for us to enjoy.
Garrett would draw "blueprints" of his traps and then construct them later with Abby's help.
In other news, I'm one year older and wiser as of Thursday. I felt weird last year about turning 30, but I have fully embraced 31 and am totally cool with it. I had a great birthday! I wasn't feeling very well in the morning, so Greg took Garrett to work and my sister offered to watch Abby. I had a few precious hours to myself and watched some March Madness, dozed on the couch, and chatted online with my sister-in-law. It was great!
Greg and the kids were so sweet to me and we had a fun night together. They got a cake and all the fixings for banana splits. We had a great night at home eating our treats and watching a movie together. It was absolutely perfect and I couldn't have asked for a better day.
Some of our our friends had a new baby horse this weekend and we took the kids over to see her this afternoon. She is a beautiful little thing and the kids were in love!

Happy Birthday!! I'm not far behind you. :) Your kids are so cute, I love the blueprints. Better to think ahead on things like catching miniature men. We miss you guys!
The kids were so cute and how they were so obsessed with getting their traps set! What a fun month we had!
