Christmas Lights and Other Fun

We have had a fun week! We loved having Kaleb and Jenna over to play.I may have previously mentioned that Abby is a big-time daddy's girl. She was absolutely devastated when he left for work the other day, so she set up camp by the door while she cried and waited for him to come home. When she realized he wasn't coming home anytime soon, she moved her party to the laundry basket. She is in love with this Winnie the Pooh Elf and it goes with us just about everywhere these days.

Beggars can't be choosers, so Sparky had no other choice but to let Em and I help him put up his precious Christmas lights. He said it was the best year yet because we didn't complain nearly as much as the boys did. (He actually used a much more descriptive word than just "complain," but I do try to keep the blog G-rated, so I edited a bit.) The temperature was below freezing, but the sun was shining and it didn't feel that cold, so we bundled up the kids and let them play outside while we worked.

We listened to the Aggies win their football game on Saturday while we were hanging lights. This was their first 7-win season in over 30 years, so it was pretty sweet for true-blue fans like my padre and our family. We had just got the kids in bed Saturday night and I was turning on the BYU game when I saw on Facebook that the Aggie plane would be landing in about 3o minutes and they were hoping for a crowd at the Logan Airport to welcome them home. Greg agreed to stay home with the kids and I rode over with my parents. (I'm hoping it won't be another 30 years until the Ags treat us with another 7 win season, but if so, my folks will be pushing 90, so I decided we better celebrate now just to be safe.)

Brett and Chelsea were pretty bummed to be missing all the fun, so I tried to capture some of it for them. Here is an awesome picture of the airplane in the sky. Wow, I know.

Another high quality photo--this one of Big Blue kissing a girl for her birthday.

The plane...

One of the buses...

The entourage...I am well aware these pictures fall into the less-than-exciting category. I tried to get the better stuff on video and didn't get snapshots. Unfortunately, I can't get the video to upload tonight, so I will have to try again later.

Before we part, here's a story I can almost guarantee will make you laugh out loud...I was talking about the Nativity story with Garrett and Gracie and asked them what they knew about the Wisemen. Garrett said, "They built their houses on rocks," and Gracie said, "They brought Frankenstein to see Jesus."

Thanks for the pictures Nat - can't wait to see the video (even if it is on the actual camera). LOL about the Nativity story with G & G. Gotta love those two! And I just love that Abby is a daddy's girl and that she set up camp in front of the door. What a cute girl.

They have loved coming and playing with you guys, thanks so much again! When we were asking them the other night what they wanted for Christmas they kept trying to think of all the toys they liked playing with at your house, maybe we'll just have to come by sometime so we can get some ideas ;)
