Go Team(s)!

Today was a big day for our favorite basketball teams.

We started out the day cheering for our Cougs as they smoked San Diego State. Sorry Aztecs--you got Jimmered!!!

(As you can see, neither child was feeling especially photogenic or cooperative today. Maybe it's because they didn't have their hair combed or faces washed and didn't want their pictures taken and broadcast to the world. Sorry about that.)

We had to do a quick costume change into our Aggie apparel and Garrett and I enjoyed attending the USU game with Pops. Garrett's favorite things about the game: riding the bus, getting an icee and a hot dog, seeing Big Blue and the cheerleaders.

When we got home from the game, Garrett was having Greg draw him pictures on his Magnadoodle. He asked him to draw "The Aggie Game," "Big Blue," and "That Girl." (That girl would be a cheerleader. Awesome.)

He was beyond ready for bed at this point and wasn't very excited about getting his picture taken, so this is the best we got of him in his Aggie shirt.
(This is where the Phillips family leaves comments about Garrett not being happy because he is wearing an Aggie shirt. I can see the writing on the wall with this one!)

Now if only the Jazz had won...it would have been a perfect day for Utah sports!

I can't believe you would let your son wear an A shirt. I went to the USU games with my grandma sometimes and I ALWAYS wore my Y shirt. Just sayin! :)
I still think your kids are cute, even when they don't want their pic taken!

Well the Petersen family could reply back that the kids don't look that thrilled in their BYU gear either! :) It was a good day for our teams- minus the Jazz.

ps- I love that Garrett wanted Greg to draw him that girl. Hilarious!

Nat, get that poor kid back into his Y shirt. Of course he's so sad... It's borderline criminal child abuse! I'm calling DCFS right now...

Nat your disclaimer doesn't change the fact there are tears welling up in his eyes. I can hear him saying in twenty years, I wish my mother would have never posted that picture of my in all that Aggie stuff on her blog. My life would have been so different.

JK...kinda.

I agree with Emily about the BYU shirts....I think Garrett is still upset you put him in the BYU shirt in the first place.
And Garrett way to think straight by liking Aggie girls.

Lots of things in this post made me laugh, but most of all, I'm impressed that you got your kids dressed twice in one day so they could be decked out for their sports teams. Way to go! And way to go, cougs!
