Today while Garrett was supposed to be napping...
He took off his socks and pants (we had no idea he knew how to take off his pants), threw everything out of the bed, and folded up the mattress...and then laughed, played, and had a grand time.
This is slightly disturbing--Garrett usually has about a three hour nap every afternoon. This time has become sacred to me. I know it won't last forever, but I'm not sure I'm ready to give it up yet. Let's hope today was just a fluke!
One good thing did come out of the no naptime, though. The poor kid was so tired tonight that he climbed onto my lap and cuddled with me while I rocked him and sang to him. I honestly can't remember the last time he slowed down enough to let me do that, so it was really sweet. In fact, we both dozed off and it felt so good to just have my little buddy snuggled up against me, just like when he was a tiny little guy.

Now if only I could get him to do both: Naptime in the day and Snuggletime at night! (Surely I should have my cake and eat it, too. Right?)

Garrett is so darn cute! Marlee and I have been here just laughing thinking about his naptime. He is so funny! I hope he still takes those long naps. You need that time to rest to keep up with him.
Oh, the naptime struggle! My kids' naptime is also "sacred" and as long as you are consistent with him, I'm sure he will keep up the long naps. But some days you will lose the battle.
Good luck with that! I can only hope and pray that my kids will love sleep as much as I do. Here's to going to bed at 830pm:)
ps BYU/TCU game NOT PRETTY!!!
Kids are so random! Why take off your socks and pants...?! Although funny sock story: When I was a nanny the 3 year old decided to take off his socks at lunch, and put them in his glass of water. Didn't see that coming... What the?! I said, 'Cole are you trying to tell me you need a nap?' and he said, 'no' really softly while looking at the floor with a 'please see through me' expression. Haha.
Oh, again, I can sooo relate! If we run errands around lunch time I have to make sure I keep Dax awake 'cause 2 seconds of dozing off throws off his whole nap. And yesterday, he only slept for 2 hours -usually 3; so I'm starting to worry too!
And, oh, the coveted cuddles. Having the new baby around has made Dax much more cuddly, and maybe its the age too. He is always hugging me now (briefly) and saying "Mommy".
Too cute!
